The thing I want people to appreciate is that being a true horse person just means being good with horses. True horse people still embody the desirable and undesirable traits that we all have. They are just people that are good with horses.
Coat Shedding
It evolved that horses are more comfortable at colder temperatures than warmer ones. Their thermal neutral temperature range varies between 5 and 12 deg C. Whereas humans have a comfortable temperature around 20-22 deg C. I won’t go into how this works, but the way a horse’s coat grows is part of the mechanism. It also helps that horses primarily breathe through their nose and not their mouth when it comes to reducing heat loss.

The first horse that I belonged to was called Luke. Well, when he came to live with me his name was Sebastian, but I couldn’t let him carry that burden for the rest of his life. He didn’t deserve that. So Luke became the name he answered to when I called him for dinner or when he ordered coffee at Starbucks and when the bakery asked what name he wanted on his birthday cake.
