Where is the line between training a horse to perform tricks and good horsemanship. Should all training teach a horse to be just as comfortable to ground tie or cross a puddle or open gates as it is to teach high level movement?
I am extremely proud that my clinics are welcoming enough that mums feel comfortable bringing their babies and toddlers along for the day. I know that some parents can’t come to clinics because it can be difficult to access child care.
Albert Einstein once said there are children in the playground today that could solve some of physics' biggest problems. Wouldn’t it be great if the next generation of horse people broke through the dormancy of today’s thinking?
A lady wrote to me and asked for advice. She wants to take up competitive dressage but keep true to her belief in the principles of good horsemanship. I think it is an issue many people wrestle with at some point in their horse career.
