A horse’s mind needs to become the other half of an alive and active conversation. When training, there is no point in lunging a horse if their feet and body are doing the work but their minds are on vacation.
I am extremely proud that my clinics are welcoming enough that mums feel comfortable bringing their babies and toddlers along for the day. I know that some parents can’t come to clinics because it can be difficult to access child care.
There is no such thing as liberty training. It’s a myth. All training imposes limits on a horse’s freedom to do whatever it chooses. True liberty training, where there are no restrictions on a horse’s choices, does not exist.
