This is a question that’s been on my mind. I do believe it is an important question to ask ourselves when we are shopping for a new horse. I don’t believe there is a right or wrong answer. I feel the answer is different for each person and each circumstance.
If money or time were not in short supply, would your money and time be better spent buying a well-trained horse, perfectly bred with outstanding conformation, for $50,000? Or would you buy a $1,000 horse that needs work, and spend $49,000 on lessons with the best instructor?
It’s one or the other. Tell me what you would choose to do?
