I want to talk about something that came up in conversation and for which I have strong views. I don’t normally talk about politics, but since this has a relation to horses and how we treat them, I am going to do it anyway.
I have been thinking, if I were Santa, what is the one training skill I would want to give every horse person for Christmas? Many things come to mind - feel, patience, kindness, a questioning mind, etc.
If you owned a horse that was about 25 years old, had been in a trailer only 3 times in her life, and the last time was about 14 years ago, how would you expect her to load today?
